Q. Good start, bit of a rough patch in the middle there.
RETIEF GOOSEN: Yeah, I actually played a lot better today. I hit a lot of fairways. First nine I didn't miss one fairway, and really had my chances to go much lower and didn't take it. The greens were for some reason a lot slower today. I kept leaving everything a foot short.
Lucky I had a downhill putt on the last hole.
Q. I heard a couple players talking about the undulation in the greens. Your irons were really top-notch hitting those greens, but --
RETIEF GOOSEN: Yeah, no, it was tricky to get close some of the holes, but they were a little softer today. You seem to have a lot more uphill putts. If you don't get it right up there, you've got an uphill putt, and I left everything short.
Yeah, tomorrow I'm five off the lead, so going to have to do something special tomorrow.
Q. Maybe he'll come back --
RETIEF GOOSEN: The German don't come back easy, that's for sure. Forecast is going to be the same, so it's going to have to be a low round.
Q. What do you have to do to stay steady --
RETIEF GOOSEN: Yeah, I just need to -- the back nine was a mess. Although I drove it better today overall, I only missed three fairways, but I need to get the iron closer. You can't keep making putts from 40 feet.
