Quick Quotes

Q. Three birdies. Talk about your round today.

DOUG BARRON: I played pretty good. The pins were tough. We started out behind because our side of the wave had a tough deal.

So I played really -- actually, I hit it better yesterday and shot 1-over, but the course played so much shorter today.

I think I probably hit about -- I maybe hit a few more fairways, but I didn't really get any closer. I played good golf.

I thought it was going to be tough to catch the leaders starting out because just starting out at 1-over. I tried to just make a bunch of pars, and I did. I got away with a couple good pars at the start and just happened to squeak in a couple on the back nine.

I think the back nine's where you got to do your scoring. The front nine's really long. I played the long holes really well. It's going to be a great weekend. I put myself -- at least I got a chance. I just want a chance to win a U.S. Open.

Q. Difference between today and yesterday obviously besides the rain, just how the course treated you.

DOUG BARRON: I thought par was 3-over for our wave yesterday, so I felt like I beat the field pretty good. I think only one or two people broke par yesterday in our wave, so I didn't feel anything bad.

I knew I was going to be behind no matter how good I played today, so I just thought whatever. I think I got to 2-under and 5's leading, so I'm kind of where I want to be, honest to God.
