Benedetta Moresco

Flash Interview

Q. We're here with Benedetta Moresco, 2-under 70 today. Can you talk us through your round?

BENEDETTA MORESCO: It was a very solid round. It's a very tough course, and I managed to do a couple birdies, which were pretty good, on 17.

It's a very tough course, so I've been missing in the right spots, trying to avoid the rough as much as possible, so that helped a lot.

Q. How did you stay bogey-free out there today?

BENEDETTA MORESCO: Yeah, my putter was on fire today. I managed to save a few up-and-downs from the fairway and rough, which was really good.

I holed the two putts that I had for birdie that I needed to hole, so that was good.

Q. How special is it to be here at Pebble Beach?

BENEDETTA MORESCO: It's incredible, all the history. The players, too. For me it's incredible. There's a lot of respect towards the course, and I'm very happy to be here.

Q. What's your game plan for tomorrow?

BENEDETTA MORESCO: Same as today. Always go for it when I can and try to save as much shots as possible trying to go for the middle of the greens if I have to. That's the plan.

Q. It's just the first day, but were you doing any leaderboard watching?

BENEDETTA MORESCO: There's a lot of leaderboards on the course, so yeah, I caught my eyes looking up there a little bit. I tried not to look at it too much.

Q. It's a very large stage. How did you feel on it? Did you have any nerves, any anxiety out there?

BENEDETTA MORESCO: I was definitely nervous my first holes. But it's my third major, so I've experienced it already, and for the first time I feel like in the right place, so I'm happy about it as I'm also trying to turn professional soon. I'm really happy about it.
