Press Conference

Q. Georgia, how would you make your out there.

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, it wasn't that spot I wanted, I wanted a few less, really. But I'm playing pretty well, a little bit more to my lines and getting some putts holed.

But, you know, I think it only takes one low round and I'll be right back in it tomorrow.

Q. What did you make of the course and the conditions in general? Is it nice to play on?

GEORGIA HALL: Oh, it's fantastic. Yeah. It's one of the best golf courses that we play all year, for sure. And the pins were really tough today, actually. I was quite surprised. But the weather wasn't too bad. So it was good.

Q. Yeah, what about the atmosphere? Obviously the Olympic Games. It's quite different sort of scenario than most tournaments you play, and how have you found that whole thing, both on the course today and kind of in the village in general?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, no, it's obviously such and honor to represent Great Britain, and I'm a very proud like British person anyway and obviously live back in England still, and just really great to represent them and wear the flag. So hopefully give them something to cheer about the next few days.

Q. Yeah, ahead of this event, are you kind of -- met any other athletes from other sports or kind of been watching other sports? How have you kind of life in the village?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, we're not staying in the village because it's just too far away. But we're staying with some modern pentathlons, so definitely quite interesting and, yeah, saw some of them last night.

Q. Yeah, have you met like Joe Choong and people like that? He obviously won gold last time I think.

GEORGIA HALL: Oh, yeah, I heard that he was in the area, sure, and we had a little welcome thing last night, which is pretty nice.

Q. And being here with Charley, I know kind of one of your best friends, what's that like, kind of together? I know it wasn't the day she wanted, but you must be quite proud representing your country with her.

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, and especially when I need to qualify, it's like a very small-knit kind of bunch, and you spend a lot of time together, so really nice it was Charley.

And I haven't seen her since she finished, but obviously we're staying together, so I'll check up on her. But I'm sure she's fine. And, you know, three days, a lot of golf to be played. So we'll see what happens, both of us.

Q. Obviously Tommy last week winning silver, can you take inspiration from him, and how special was it what he did?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, awesome. It didn't surprise me at all. He's a fantastic player. And I know he's very British. And it's certainly nice to watch. And I know he's so close to getting gold, but honestly to be in the ceremony and to get a medal in these games is a great achievement in itself.

Q. Speaking to Shannon Tan earlier, I know you know you're her idol. What does that feel like to have someone, a winner on the Tour, still looking up to you?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I believe Shannon Tan, she's still so young, I think she's going to be a really great talent. And I didn't really realize. She came up to me in Saudi earlier this year, and she actually watched me all 18 holes in Aramco, in London, a few weeks ago when I was in contention. She watched every hole.

So obviously it's really nice, and I think she's a lovely person. And it just, yeah, means a lot that if I can be kind of a role model even to her or other people, I know that I, you know, looked up to people growing up, and it really kind of helped me get to where I am.

So, yeah, I'm very honored.

Q. And we come from England as well, from a golfing world, but obviously she's doing everything, kind of the first time for everything. Is that quite important for the game, to just keep pushing those boundaries and grow?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, definitely. I believe that she's -- her first tee shot for Singapore, so obviously that's a great honor for her, and like I said, I'm sure she's going to win more tournaments, and it's great for the country in general. We have an event in March time every time every year in Singapore, and it's like an extremely well-run event and the golf course is great and we get looked after really well. So I think that, you know, you have someone to represent Singapore was massive.
