Quick Quotes

Q. Seems like if you're just a little too far, you're staring at doubles, as opposed to pars.

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, it's really tricky out here. I feel like for the most part you have to play really smart but when you do have an opportunity to be a little bit more aggressive, just try to take it and try to capitalise on those opportunities because they are not always available.

But it was, like I said, today, I felt like everything was just working really well. It's nice on moving day to move up as much as I did. I'm just looking forward to tomorrow.

Q. 18, a lot of back-and-forth trying to decide what club, and again, playing a great round, you could have just thrown it all away on that last hole. That's what 18's like here.

BROOKE HENDERSON: For sure. It's not an easy second shot. Even though it's really not that far, I mean, it was 204 I think to the pin. But the green is surrounded by water, and the wind is pretty strong and the greens are not holding.

So there was a lot of factors that maybe would have advised not to go for it but I felt like I had a good opportunity and I felt pretty confident in the swing. So I'm glad that it held on there and it was an easy 2-putt.

Q. Is there a way to characterise this layout and the intensity and the wind and the firmness, like in terms of how difficult this is compared to week-to-week, to a major, etc.?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I would say it's very comparable to a major. The rough is very thick. The greens are quite firm at times, and you know, the wind has been causing some problems I think to the entire field. So you definitely have to play smart and it can be a really tough golf course, especially if you get on the wrong side of things. It can play extremely tough and difficult. Today I was kind of riding a lot of highs and I feel like that confidence really helped me to continue to play well.

Q. Medal obviously is in your mind. What do you think you've got to do tomorrow?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I mean, I'm still pretty far back but it was nice to get the jump that I did today and move up as much as I did. It's a lot less work than I would have had, or I did yesterday, which is a good feeling.

But a lot of golf still to play, and you know, with those finishing holes, I feel like a lot can happen, a lot of movement, especially on Sunday afternoon. So I feel like right to the end, I'll have a shot at it hopefully and just try to post a good number.

Q. Pretty thankfully to be in now, as opposed to having to navigate those holes in the wind?

BROOKE HENDERSON: I thought the wind was dying down compared to what we were playing with earlier. We'll see. I'm happy to be done and to be able to finish 2-under on the back nine, so I'll take that.
