Quick Quotes

Q. What's your feeling right now?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, pissed off, I guess is the first word that comes to mind. But no, I guess maybe giving myself five minutes to think about it, you know, coming fourth after such a bad start to the Games on Wednesday, I have to be pretty proud of myself.

Felt like I gave myself some good opportunities coming down the stretch, but I think, yeah, a bit annoyed that the putt on 17 didn't go in and then obviously having to lay up on 18 and try and make birdie the harder way when people are knocking it on in two is annoying.

But off-season all, yeah, I'm super proud of myself. My team and I did well today. All in all, to be in contention at a Games, I'm super happy.

Q. What was your thought standing on 18 tee of what you might need to do?

HANNAH GREEN: I kind of -- I hit 3-wood the last two days but yesterday I laid up just because I didn't feel comfortable with the shot that I was going to have in. So that's why I decided to pull driver and nearly hit the worst drive I've hit all week; the widest drive I've hit all week as well. At least it ended up in the bunker. I could have had an open stance or lie in the rough. So that was good.

But my third shot wasn't good at all. Obviously I was nervous and knew where I needed to be. I was looking at leaderboards all day but I also didn't think I would be that much in contention, also.

So yeah, it was annoying to I think miss the putt low. I saw Minjee hole the putt from around there. I was like, I need her to hole this for me.

Overall it was a disappointing par on the last.

Q. Did you think it was going to take longer to get in Medal contention? By nine, you were third. When were you aware that you were in the hunt?

HANNAH GREEN: Obviously you always expect other people to play well and I knew it was going to be difficult because I mean it was kind of nice that I was third or fourth group from the back.

So I felt like I had less pressure on myself than perhaps the other girls coming in. But yeah, I was surprised, I think the first time I saw was coming off nine and then obviously I hit into the water. That's when I honestly felt I was out of it completely.

But it is a difficult stretch the last nine holes, and obviously I played them well yesterday. So I just wanted to make sure that I focused on that and gave myself opportunities, which I certainly did. So I'm proud of that.

Q. What do you make of playing that last four holes in that environment, that atmosphere? Does that compare to anything you've been part of before?

HANNAH GREEN: These are probably the biggest crowds I've ever played in front of. When I won KPMG, it was super rainy and miserable, so I didn't have that many people following.

Yeah, I think this is the biggest crowd I've played in front of and I think it has such a great atmosphere, this going, Le Golf National. But yeah, I think it will be a tough stretch for the next two groups coming in.

Q. L.A. 2028?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I mean, I definitely will still be playing golf. Touch wood, I don't get injured or anything like that. But when I left Tokyo, I was thinking about Paris because I thought it was going to be such a great venue and it has been. Yeah, L.A. will definitely be on my radar. Still four years. Tokyo, we had less time to prepare.

Yeah, it's on my mind and hopefully I can make it to Riviera for three times.

Q. What do you take away from this experience?

HANNAH GREEN: Never giving up. I thought I was completely out of it from round would you know and I think it probably helped that the greens got firm expert wind picked up a little bit. I just have to make sure I don't get too ahead of myself. Would be nice if I got off to a better start in tournaments because I feel like, yeah, when I'm playing my best in the first day, that's when I really can be in contention.

Yeah, I'm super excited for the next couple of events that I have on my calendar, and I'll take this in a positive way.
