Quick Quotes

Q. At the end of the week, your Olympics debut, what are the biggest takeaways for you?

MORGANE METRAUX: I had an amazing experience. It's unlike any other event I've ever played. To be able to represent your country on such a stage is incredible and have so many supporters here for me cheering my name, cheering for their country, it's been incredible.

So right now it hurts, what happened today, but I'm going to eventually remember only the good stuff.

Q. And there was plenty of that on Friday with the front nine 28. How much is that a confidence booster golfing for the rest of the season?

MORGANE METRAUX: Yeah, absolutely. I didn't start the season very well this year with an injury that was lingering, and yeah, just being able to shoot such a low score over nine holes tells a lot about where my game is and what I can do in the next few months and in the future.

So yeah, it's really exciting.

Q. Can you talk about the emotion of playing in the final group? You've done it back-to-back days in the Olympics. How was that?

MORGANE METRAUX: It's always fun. It's where you want to be. There's no better place to play golf on such a stage than the final group. The emotions are high when you play in a setting like this. Honestly I had fun. Today obviously a little less but it was a great experience and I'll draw a lot on it.

Q. What was the difference today? Can you point to anything in particular? Was it mindset? Did something distract you? What would you say?

MORGANE METRAUX: I wasn't hitting the ball quite as well on the range, which I mean, it's just the range, so usually it shouldn't impact.

But I actually had an incredible shot on 1 after my -- for my third shot. It was probably one of the very best shots of the week. So I actually started okay.

I struggle with dizziness here and there. It's the third time this year that it's happened, and it was really bothering me today.

Yeah, I don't know, it's just compounding some mistakes, bad lies, some putts that didn't go in. It was just a bit of everything today.

Q. The dizziness, is that something in particular?

MORGANE METRAUX: No. It's heat, less sleep. It just happens. It's happened a few times. It's going to happen again. It's just unfortunate it happened today.

Q. And what was it like to have your sister surprise you today?

MORGANE METRAUX: Yeah, surprised me. It was fun. I didn't expect it at all, and apparently my whole family and friends knew all about it. They hid it really well from me.

No, it was cool to just see her come on the range this morning.

Q. Will you be in the Closing Ceremonies?

MORGANE METRAUX: Yeah, I'll be there.
