Quick Quotes

Q. Amanda Doherty is with us now at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Amanda, what can you tell us about with your ace today?

AMANDA DOHERTY: It was a perfect number for my 8-iron. A little bit of a draw wind for me, so even better, and just a stock eight.

I quit watching it. Then I heard everybody cheer. (Smiling.)

Q. What's your history of hole-in-ones, especially at the professional level?

AMANDA DOHERTY: This is my fifth hole-in-one. They've all been in competition, but first one on Tour. I had one on Epson, had one in a Monday qualifier earlier this year.

Q. Is this your best one?

AMANDA DOHERTY: I think so.

Q. Why?

AMANDA DOHERTY: Hole-in-one in a major, yeah.

Q. Okay. Can you describe the others, long par-3s, short par-3s?

AMANDA DOHERTY: Kind of a mix. I've had mid-to-long irons every time. This was a shorter iron today, so...

Q. How does it feel to be in the limelight in a major? First time?

AMANDA DOHERTY: Yeah, it's quite exciting for sure.

Q. Put all that aside, obviously came late in the round. Do you leave the round pretty excited about the way you played and happy with the way you played?

AMANDA DOHERTY: Yeah, got off to a little bit of a rocky start this morning. When I made the turn I thought, let's try to get it back to even par and I did that, so I'm happy with how I turned it around.

Q. Beyond the hole-in-one, how do you prepare and plan for this week and what's your vision for the rest of the week?

AMANDA DOHERTY: I'm just going to keep trying to play my game and hope it's a good week.

Q. Who did you give the ball to?

AMANDA DOHERTY: I gave it to my dad. So I wouldn't hit it so he can hang onto it.

Q. What is where dad's name?

AMANDA DOHERTY: Mike.
