Quick Quotes

Q. Weiwei Zhang is with us now at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Weiwei, 4-under for you today. What did you do well out there?

WEIWEI ZHANG: I did great job today and I got eight birdies, and so proud here because tough course and I got lot birdie here. I'm so happy today.

Q. So eight birdies is a lot of birdies, and then four bogeys. So just talk about the birdies a little bit. Is that something that happens to you often? Is that your type of game? Is it aggressive?

WEIWEI ZHANG: Yeah, for now, today my approach is great, so I just aggressive than before and had lot of chance to make birdie, and I hole some like ten-feet putt, ten-feet birdie.

So, yeah, it's good.

Q. I'm assuming the fact that it's a major didn't make you be more defensive or more careful. You still play your game, no?

WEIWEI ZHANG: Yeah, for this week my goal only just smooth swing and confident short putt and clear mind. I don't think much about score, yeah. But I still feel a lot pressure here, uh-huh.

Q. Can I ask you, how close were you hitting it? Looked like you pretty much -- that stretch six, seven, eight, were you in a really good rhythm there?

WEIWEI ZHANG: Yes, I hit really close, like I think it's inside ten feet. And seven hole is a par-5 and I reach to the only 20 feet to the pin, yeah, and two-putt for birdie.

Q. The par-5s, I think you birdied three of them today. Are they holes you feel you have to take advantage of?

WEIWEI ZHANG: Yes. I take -- yes, I was aggressive on par-5 today and I have lot chance in par-5, uh-huh.

Q. So you were saying you're still nervous; it's a major. How do you use that in your favor? How is that good for you to be nervous here?

WEIWEI ZHANG: Nervous?

Q. Feeling the pressure.

WEIWEI ZHANG: Oh, yes. I feel a lot pressure this week. I know this is the highest money this week, and I had -- last month I didn't play well and this week I just make more confidence this week.

Q. So it helps you? That pressure helps you you think?

WEIWEI ZHANG: I don't think the pressure help me, but I just keep my mind more clear and I just take breaths on the course and that help me.

The pressure not help me.
